Bryan Tucker, City of Savage, and Jo Foust, Scott Co. CDA First Stop Shop (FSS) will be presenting Economic Development Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), providing an update on employment growth, business development, housing, and other related topics.Some of the topics to be discussed are:
- Where are we at in meeting the countywide 50% by 2030 employment goals?
- Is employment growing in the City of Savage?
- What kinds of inquiries is First Stop Shop getting? Are there any trends in what companies are looking for? Is community financial assistance always a factor?
- Is the number of businesses in Savage growing?
- What programs are available to help existing businesses, as well as new businesses, grow and succeed once they are in Savage/Scott County?
- Affordable housing seems to be a big topic. How are Scott County communities planning to meet these housing needs?
- What projects are on the horizon for Scott County as a whole and the City of Savage specifically?
- There’s been some debate regarding the city’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan. What is this about and what are the issues?
